Stone of Destiny in theatres Friday Feb 20th
Stone of Destiny looks like a pretty decent UK cops and robbers movie ...
Here's what I know to be true: On Christmas day 1950, and Ian Hamilton and his mates stole a 300 lb rock from Westminster Abbey, risking 20 years in jail for no great return - except Scotland's honour.
Stone of Destiny is directed by Charles Martin Smith and stars Charlie Cox, (Stardust), and Robert Carlyle of (Trainspotting, Full Monty) Rab Affleck, Billy Boyd, and Kate Mara.
A heist 600 years in the making - the movie recreates the theft of the Stone of Scone on Christmas Day 1951. This holy relic a symbol of Scotland - but its also the rock upon which all the Kings and Queens of England are and have been crowned.
Join Charles Martin Smith, Director of STONE OF DESTINY on Friday, February 20th at Scotiabank Theatre Vancouver at 7:10pm (or on Saturday, February 21st at Fifth Avenue Cinemas at 7:20pm) for an introduction to his new film and a brief Question & Answer Session following the screening.
